Students in court for robbing teacher at gunpoint

Two students, Joshua Kwabena Nyador and Wisdom Ayekple, faced charges of robbery and conspiracy to rob at the Dansoman Circuit Court. They, along with two other accomplices, allegedly robbed a teacher at gunpoint, taking her mobile phones and money. The accused even threatened to share the victim’s private photos on social media if she didn’t pay a sum of GHC5,000. Nyador and Ayekple were granted bail and the case is set to resume on November 25, 2024.

The prosecution revealed that the incident involved the targeted teacher in Mempeasem, Accra, where the accused claimed to be University of Ghana students from Madina Zongo Junction. The robbery took place in July 2024 when the victims were approached by the culprits in a white Toyota Corolla Spider, resulting in the theft of phones and money. The accused individuals are facing serious charges related to the robbery and extortion incident.
