The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Honorable Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, has announced plans to establish a new security taskforce to tackle illegal landguard activities in the Greater Accra Region.
Mr. Titus-Glover stated that the establishment of the taskforce was necessary due to the council’s concern about landguard issues and their commitment to addressing them.
He explained that harassment by such individuals often causes investors interested in the construction industry to abandon their projects for fear of attacks.
Mr. Titus-Glover warned that anyone found sponsoring these landguards would not be spared and urged the chiefs to avoid involvement in landguard activities and the multiple sale of lands.

“The police and soldiers will pursue the landguards, just as some have been arrested in the Ga West area and are undergoing legal proceedings for prosecution,” Mr. Titus-Glover said.
He added that the Security Council had received intelligence about the Coalition of La Association’s planned demonstration against the government following the release of 250 acres of land to them.
He noted that although the government had announced in 2020, the transfer of land occupied by the Ghana Armed Forces to the Coalition, the process had not yet been completed.
Mr. Titus-Glover urged the youth, some of whom intended to cause violence during the Homowo celebrations, to refrain from such actions while his office addresses the matter.
At a meeting with members of the La Municipal Security and youth leaders, Mr. Titus-Glover promised to take the matter to the presidency to expedite all documentation related to the land transfer. The Otublohum Mantse, Nii Doodo Nsaki II, expressed gratitude to the President for the donated items.
