Amaarae, real name Ama Serwah Genfi, was born in the Bronx, New York to Ama Bawuah and Kwadwo Boateng Genfi, and raised between Atlanta, United States and Accra, Ghana is a Billboard-charting musician known for global hits in different genres such as RnB, Alte, Afrobeats, Pop music and Hip-Hop.
Experimenting with music from an early age, the singer-songwriter, producer and sound engineer travelled a lot as a child, and was a major force in the urban and Alte music scene in Accra before fully establishing herself as a global superstar.

She is now on tour with Sabrina Carpenter after opening for Grammy-award musician, Daniel Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, in his now cancelled New World 2024 Tour across North America and Europe.
But before climbing on these mega-stages and rocking world-wide tours, Amaarae was heavily in touch with the night life scene in Accra, and revealed to Trippin World her favourite spots across the city.
Below are her favourite spots to grab a drink in Accra:#
1. BloomBar
BloomBar, the spot that became Accra’s favourite hangout was the first on her list.
And she was quoted as saying: ““Go on a Friday or Saturday if you like to be in the hustle and bustle and like crowds, but if you’re chill and want a great night with a great atmosphere go after work. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday, at about 6 – 9 pm and just have a drink and chill out.”
2. Zion Thai Restaurant
Amaarae’s taste for continental dishes didn’t take to jump out as her second choice was Zion Thai Restaurant, a continental restaurant in the capital she described as: ““A little hole in the wall spot with a rooftop, they do sick Thai food. If you go there ask for everything extra spicy, it’s sick.”
3. Spintex Road
It’s not all glitz, glam, flashy and fine-dinning for the multi-talented singer, her third choice might come as a surprise to many but any person who’s stayed in Accra for long, knows some of the best spots are in the streets, literally. She chose Spintex Road as her next option.
“It’s a stretch of tiny alcohol kiosks, there’s one dude who has a kiosk and he had a couch outside and people just post up on the couch. Order a bunch of local shots,” Amaarae said.
4. Republic Bar
Amaarae seemed to hangout in Osu as well, and it’s not surprising because the town that never sleeps is the enjoyment center of the capital. Her final choice was the Republic Bar and just maybe you might get a special discount if you mention her name.
“Go drink at the republic bar, tell them Amaarae sent you,” the singer-songwriter noted.
