French students across the country’s many university campuses may be forced to defer their programmes of study for the next academic year. This is because the Scholarship Secretariat has failed to disburse the funds needed to spend a year abroad in furtherance of their study of the French language.
In a story sighted on 3news.com, students of the University of Ghana, Legon in Accra are amongst those affected. Others are from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Cape Coast (UCC) and the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

Efforts to reach the Scholarship Secretariat for comments were unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the French Department of the University of Ghana, Legon revealed that all attempts to seek redress have been futile.
