Water shortage hits eastern Accra communities

0

The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has announced an interruption in water supply to the eastern part of the Greater Accra Region since Sunday, August 25, 2024.

This is due to a burst in the transmission line from the Kpong Treatment Plant to the Dodowa Booster Station, affecting areas such as Dodowa, Oyibi, Frafraha, Adenta, Madina, and surrounding communities.

Repair work is ongoing, with engineers working to replace the weak section of the transmission line.

The GWCL aims to restore water supply by Wednesday, August 28, 2024, barring any unforeseen challenges.

In the meantime, measures are in place to mitigate the impact, including supplying essential service providers like hospitals and schools with water through tankers.

The management regrets the inconvenience and asks consumers to bear with the situation.
