Chaired by the President of the GCA, Mr. Emmanuel Asare, this congress serves as an important platform for the General Assembly, which comprises various delegates, to discuss and approve crucial matters regarding the association’s operations and future plans.

In a media briefing ahead of the event, Mr. Asare highlighted the key items on the agenda. The congress will focus on the presentation and approval of the auditor’s report, alongside proposals for amendments to the GCA constitution from the delegates. These discussions are expected to shape the direction of cricket development in Ghana for the upcoming season.

One of the major highlights of the congress will be Mr. Asare’s report to the assembly, which will cover Ghana’s achievements in cricket over the past year. Notably, it will feature a review of Ghana’s role in successfully hosting the 2023 African Games, as well as updates on the redevelopment of the Achimota Cricket Oval, which has been a focal point for cricket activities in the country.

Mr. Asare also emphasized the importance of this congress for future planning and called on all stakeholders to attend and actively participate in setting the agenda for the next cricket season. Key decisions made during the congress will likely impact the growth and success of cricket in Ghana.

The annual congress is expected to play a pivotal role in consolidating the gains made in the sport and driving forward new initiatives for cricket development in the country.
