Hearts of Oak have found a new home at the University of Ghana Stadium following the unexpected closure of the Accra Sports Stadium for maintenance. The National Sports Authority (NSA) shut down the Accra stadium due to the deteriorating condition of the pitch, which had drawn widespread criticism.

The Phobians had initially eyed the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi as an alternative, but the Confederation of African Football (CAF) withdrew its approval of the venue, leaving it unavailable for Hearts’ 2024-25 season.

For now, the University of Ghana Stadium will serve as Hearts’ home, where they will share the facility with Legon Cities, Dreams FC, and Accra Lions. Their first match at the new venue will be against Bechem United on Sunday, September 21, 2024, as they look to claim their first win of the season.
