Mr. Johnson Kwaku Gameli Kportüfe has been elected as the new President of the Ghana Skaters Association following an online election. He leads a newly sworn-in executive team that includes Mr. Godfrey W. Amarteifio as 1st Vice President, along with regional vice presidents for four zones.

Other key officials include Mr. Prosper Ashiquaye Doku as Secretary General, Mr. George Bamfo as Treasurer, and Ms. Josephine Darkwah as Women’s Commissioner. The new executives have pledged to roll out activities aimed at promoting skating across the country.
Skating, which includes both ice and roller skating, has long been part of Ghana’s sports landscape. The association, previously known as the Federation of Roller Sports, was rebranded as the Ghana Skaters Association (GHASA) in January 2023.
The election was conducted by a committee led by Mr. Kwadjo Baah Agyemang, and Lawyer Devine Kweku Asigbetsey administered the oath of office. President Kportüfe has expressed his commitment to developing the sport through unity and collaboration with corporate partners.
With new leadership in place, the association is ready to take Ghana’s skating community to new heights.
