Renowned Ghanaian musician King Promise has revealed why he’s not often seen on local shows around the country.
During an open discussion on Onua Showtime with Nana Ama McBrown, the artist emphasized that his absence is mostly due to a lack of invites from rural promoters rather than financial reasons.

Addressing common misunderstandings, King Promise clarified that his absence from numerous local performances is not related to excessive prices.
“It is not a money thing,” he clarified.
“I do not perform many local shows because of money. It is not because they could not afford to pay me. My team and I deal with every business differently. I won’t charge you the same way I charge someone in Portugal or Paris. It is definitely going to be different.”
He went on to explain, pointing out that one important aspect was the lack of involvement from local event promoters.
“The reason I don’t perform in rural areas is that they don’t really have promoters who actually do these gigs and have reached out to me. They have money. They paid me really well when I went to Berekum, probably even better than some people in Accra would, the singer remarked,” he added.
