The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has launched a new Online Advertisement Application Portal at a launch ceremony held in the T.C. Corquaye Conference Room in the FDA offices, as part of the authority’s efforts to transform its processes onto digital platforms.

The new site represents a major improvement in service delivery as it simplifies the submission, review, and approval procedure for advertisements for FDA-regulated products.

Speaking at the launch, the Chief Executive Officer of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), Dr. Delese Darko underlined that the platform’s goals are to improve accessibility, simplicity, and transparency by enabling users to submit ads, send money, and get approvals all online and without having to visit physical locations.

“This is a momentous occasion for us,” the FDA representative said in the welcome address.

“The launch of this platform reflects our commitment to innovation, efficiency, and customer-centricity. It’s a leap forward in how we interact, engage, and serve our stakeholders.”

The FDA’s mandate under the Public Health Act, 2012 (Act 851), includes the regulation of product advertisements.

With the new platform offering a transparent and verifiable record of all transactions and communications, this process should become much simpler.

With this action, all parties involved in the advertising process will be guaranteed accountability and transparency.

The new portal was developed together with with Proper-Alliance, an affiliate of the AFCTA Network Hub, and other key partners.

The FDA thanked everyone involved in making the project a reality and encouraged all stakeholders to embrace the digital platform.
