Kwame Asare Obeng, better known as A Plus, has come out in support of the Special Prosecutor’s request for armored vehicles. This request was part of a 2021 application for clearance of some vehicles. The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), under the leadership of Mr. Kissi Adjabeng, has been under fire online after this document, addressed to the finance ministry, spread across the internet.
The application included requests for four types of armored vehicles and 12 types of lighter vehicles. The total cost of these vehicles would be GH¢29,952,000. Many internet users, including Blakk Rasta, have criticized this request, calling it crazy and insensitive. However, A Plus argues that an armored vehicle is a necessity for the Special Prosecutor, as there have been several attempts on his life.

In a lengthy Facebook post, A Plus wrote, “You want to assassinate someone. You have made five attempts on his life this year alone, but you are angry he has requested bulletproof cars which is a requirement under the law that set up his office.” He also expressed his frustration with what he sees as the current NPP-led administration’s constant attempts to hinder anti-corruption leaders.
