Sedina Tamakloe Attionu, the former CEO of MASLOC under John Dramani Mahama’s administration, has been sentenced to 10 years by an Accra High Court. Charged with 78 counts including causing financial loss, stealing, and money laundering, she was tried and convicted in her absence. The case against her started in 2017 when the Economic and Organised Crime Office found evidence of misused funds during her time at MASLOC, with accusations of embezzling GHc3.19 million and causing a financial loss of GH¢1.97 million to the state.

The accusations detail that she misappropriated MASLOC funds, including GH¢500,000 for personal use, withdrew GH¢1,816,000 for a supposed nationwide sensitization but spent only GH¢1,300 on refreshments without conducting programs in several regions, and mishandled GH¢579,800 out of GH¢1,465,035 intended for Kantamanto Market victims.
