The National Food Suppliers Association has disclosed plans of picketing at the Ministry of Education on Kinbu Road in Accra over unpaid debt owed its members by government.
They association said for over seven months the government has failed to them for the supply of food.
The seven months arrears owed them, they described as a deliberate attempt to frustrate them.
Therefore, the protest has become inevitable and that it is of disadvantage to food suppliers if government frustrates the operations of the National Food Buffer Stock Company.
The only way to stop them, according to the spokesperson of the group, Kwaku Amedume, is for government to pay the money owed them in full.
“We want the government to pay us in full,” he said.
Amedume also narrated how their monies have been deducted without any explanations.
“They have been deducting our monies left, right, center and when you ask for an explanation, they are not willing to give it to you.”
