The Gbese Paramountcy Stool Dzaase of the Gbese Traditional Area has suspended indefinitely Nii Doku III as the head of family for the Nii Doku We Gbese Songmenaa with immediate effect
It is therefore instructed that Nii Doku III not identify or present himself as such in any traditional Gbese or Nii Doku We / Songmenaa office post.
The Gbese Dzasetse and Principal Kingmaker of the Gbese Stool, Nii Okai Kasablofo V, the Gbese Akwashontse, jointly issued and signed the notice of suspension.

The Gbese Dzaase, the present occupant of the Gbese Stool and the Adonteng of the Ga State, Nii Dr. Ayi-Bonte II, were all treated with what they called blatant disrespect and contempt by Nii Ayi Ardayfio II, the Head, Aneje We, and the acting Gbese Shippi, Nii Okai Tagoe, according to the suspension notice issued.
The notice further stated that Nii Doku III unilaterally carried out a customary rite to install an asafoatse, defying Gbese Dzaase’s directive prohibiting him from interfering in the impasse between the Nii DokuWe/Gbese Songmenaa and the Asafoatse Christopher Brandford Nettey Family of Swalaba.
The notification further said that Nii Doku III admitted to the deed and begged for pardon, promising to make things right, when he appeared before the Council of Elders of Gbese.
However, he continued to act in a way that would have created a dangerous situation on Saturday, July 6, 2024, one that would have turned violent and resulted in a bloody scene nearby.
According to the notice, Nii Doku III has to immediately annul the so-called customary rite that was performed on the so-called asafoatse and proclaim it to be completely void.
