Asenso-Boakye’s remarks follow criticisms from former president John Dramani Mahama, who questioned the NPP’s claim of constructing 12,830 kilometers of roads. In response, the minister highlighted that between 2017 and 2023, the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia administration completed 12,830 kilometers of roads, compared to the 4,636 kilometers achieved by Mahama’s previous government.
