The National Sports Authority (NSA) has locked the newly built TNA Stadium in Tarkwa, escalating a conflict with the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal Assembly (TMA) over the facility’s management. Just one month after its grand inauguration, the $16.3 million, 10,000-seater stadium is already in poor condition, with complaints of malfunctioning facilities and a deteriorating pitch.

The TMA, led by Municipal Chief Executive Benjamin Kessie, blames the NSA for the poor maintenance and is pushing to take control of the stadium. However, NSA Deputy Director Majeed Bawa insists that the authority has the legal mandate to manage the stadium and has rejected the TMA’s claims.

Tensions are rising, with the local community vowing to take matters into their own hands and reclaim the stadium. The Tarkwa Police Command is on high alert, fearing a potential clash between the NSA and the community. With both parties refusing to back down, the situation remains tense as they fight over the future of this valuable sports facility.
