Black Stars coach Otto Addo and technical staff not paid for 3 months?

Otto Addo, the head coach of the Black Stars, and his technical staff have apparently not been paid for the last three months.

This was reported by Kessben FM, a radio station based in Kumasi; however, the reason behind the delay in paying the technical staff of the senior men’s national team was not revealed.

However, in accordance with the report, the Ghana Football Association is in contact with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to pay the coaches’ debt. According to Ghanaweb, this is to steer clear of any controversy.

Many Ghanaians find this news unexpected, particularly in light of the public’s intense criticism of the Black Stars’ previous subpar results.

The Black Stars lost out on the Morocco tournament failing to all six of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches.

Ghana only managed three points, drew three and losing three, to finish last in Group F. Along with Sudan, led by Kwesi Appiah, who came in second, Angola qualified as group leaders.

On Monday, November 18, 2024, Niger overcame Ghana in the Accra Sports Stadium, but it wasn’t enough to earn a spot because Sudan held Angola to a goalless draw to end with eight points, one more than the Menas.

The GFA has called Addo to give a technical report on the team’s performances on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, while he and his guys await their payout.

This comes after the Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Executive Council meeting.
