Some armed robbers allegedly tried to rob a forex bureau at Lapaz this afternoon, but were unsuccessful, according to reports.
Members of the Ghana Police Service’s anti-robbery squad hurried to the scene and engaged in a standoff with an unnamed group of armed criminals at the Rahama Forex Bureau LTD in Lapaz.
A female employee of the Forex Bureau was reportedly held captive while police tried to apprehend and rescue the group, according to eyewitness accounts.

The armed thieves who tried to rob were confined within the structure when some astute bystanders secured the entrance.
Some personnel of the anti-robbery unit of the Ghana Police Service quickly responded and were involved in a standoff against an unidentified group of armed robbers at the Rahama Forex Bureau LTD in Lapaz, following a foiled robbery attempt.

Nevertheless, in a startling twist of circumstances, the robbers were able to escape before Ghana Police Service anti-robbery officers could capture them.
Reports suggest that no one was arrested.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service is yet to provide an update on the situation.
This comes a few weeks after another daylight robbery happened at Adabraka where the armed robbers made away with sacks of money and some jewelry set.

The Ghana Police Service was able to track the car used for the robbery but none of them have been arrested as of now.
