Sannie Daara, the former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has voiced strong confidence in Otto Addo, the current head coach of Ghana’s senior men’s national team, and his technical staff. Daara believes that despite the recent setbacks in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, the coaching team is committed to building a formidable squad for the nation.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show, Daara, who now serves as a senior media officer at the Confederation of African Football (CAF), called on Ghanaian fans to remain patient as the team undergoes a rebuilding process.
“The Black Stars qualified for the World Cup by defeating Nigeria with a very young squad,” Daara remarked. “We had good momentum heading into the World Cup, although we exited early. Since then, maintaining that momentum has been a struggle.”
Daara pointed out that frequent changes in the coaching staff over the years have disrupted the team’s consistency and confidence.
“The constant coaching changes have hampered the team’s growth and affected their ability to perform consistently, even against less formidable opponents,” he explained.
Despite the current challenges, Daara emphasized that the technical team is focused on developing a young and promising squad, urging fans to be patient during this transitional phase.
The Black Stars have faced heavy criticism for their lackluster performances in the AFCON qualifiers, with their qualification for the 2025 tournament hanging in the balance. However, Daara remains optimistic about the long-term vision that Addo and his team are pursuing.
Ghana’s upcoming fixtures will be pivotal in determining their AFCON 2025 destiny. The Black Stars are set to play Angola in Luanda on November 15 at the Estádio 11 de Novembro, with kick-off scheduled for 19:00 GMT. They will then return to Accra to host Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18, with the match starting at 16:00 GMT.
The outcome of these matches will be crucial as the team seeks to secure their place in the upcoming tournament and regain the confidence of their fans.
