Former Black Stars player, Samuel Inkoom, has found himself at the center of a legal dispute, accused of defrauding a Dubai-based Ghanaian man and his fiancée of US$8,000. Inkoom has pleaded with the Kwabenya Circuit Court for more time, until October 31, to repay the money.

Charged with defrauding by false pretences, Inkoom explained to the court that he is selling off his properties to raise the funds needed to settle the debt. His request was granted by the presiding judge, Ms. Mavis Bedjrah, after his initial court appearance on July 23, 2024.
According to Chief Inspector Gershon Togo Achondo, the complainants, Doris Dankwa and her fiancé, Seth Osei Addai, were planning to relocate to the United States. Living in Dubai at the time, they sought help from Inkoom, who was in Accra, to facilitate their move.
Inkoom allegedly informed the couple that he had a company capable of arranging their travel to the USA, asking for $4,000 from each of them. The money, totaling $8,000, was handed over to Inkoom via John Dadzie, the father of Doris Dankwa, at Atlantic Towers in Accra.
The court is now awaiting Inkoom’s payment by the October 31 deadline. Will he be able to settle the debt and resolve the case? Only time will tell.
