Double sale of lands at Tse Addo, 3 arrested

Some three individuals have been arrested and arraigned before the Accra Circuit Court for allegedly double selling lands at Tse Addo, in La-Accra.

The three accused for making conflicting grants of a parcel of land are Holy Quaye, 39, a farmer, Andrew Tetteh Boy aka T.T., an event organizer, and Furgurson Adjetey Lomo aka Major, 55, a businessman, all residents of La, in Accra.

According to the allegations, the three defendants used force, violence, and intimidation to stop workers and Angela Huana, a widow and businesswoman based in Spintex, from developing their legally obtained land.

The defendants have been charged with false land transactions, unlawful land protection, and conspiracy to commit crimes.

Lomo and Boye were asked by the court to be on their former bail.

Quaye, who made his first appearance at the court was also admitted to bail in the sum of GHC800,000 with two sureties, one to be justified with landed property.

The court, presided over by Mr. Isaac Addo, further mandated that one of the sureties be employed by the government and receive a net monthly income of GHC 3,500.

The court further requested that the head of the surety’s department endorse the pay slip of the aforementioned surety.

The court also ordered that the prosecution comply with all disclosures, and the case was postponed until September 3, 2024.
