Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex recently paid a courtesy visit to President Nana Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House in Accra. The team sought the President’s blessings and support as they prepare for their debut in the CAF Champions League.
President Akufo-Addo responded positively, committing to provide financial assistance to the club for their upcoming continental campaign.

Based in Samreboi, FC Samartex’s delegation included Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif, CEO Richard Nsenkyire, Business Development Manager Paul Anyaba, and other officials. The visit was an opportunity to present the President with the Ghana Premier League trophy, symbolizing their hard-earned victory over Accra Lions.
“Our goal is to seek your blessing by showing you the cup. Over the years, we’ve noticed that teams heading to Africa often lack financial backing,” Nsenkyire explained during the meeting.
FC Samartex is set to face Cameroon’s Victoria United in the first round of the preliminary stage. The club aims to emulate Medeama SC’s achievement of reaching the group stage last season, with hopes of advancing further into the knockout rounds.
