President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku of the Ghana Football Association has encouraged FC Samartex 1996 to draw motivation from Medeama SC and Dreams FC’s successes in the 2023-24 CAF Inter-club competitions as they prepare for their debut in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.

During a visit to their training session on August 13, 2024, at Adjiringanor Astro turf in Accra, he urged the 2023-24 Ghana Premier League champions to use the experiences of previous Ghanaian teams as a blueprint for their own continental campaign.
Medeama SC, the 2022-23 Ghana Premier League winners, made it to the group stage of the Champions League in their first attempt, while Dreams FC, the MTN FA Cup winners, reached the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup. President Simeon-Okraku expressed confidence in FC Samartex 1996’s potential and encouraged them to aim high as they prepare for their first-leg preliminary match against Victoria United FC in Cameroon.
