Accra Hearts of Oak is set to release 17 players ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season following a disappointing 2023/24 campaign. The team narrowly avoided relegation and struggled in the domestic cup competition.
The departing players include four goalkeepers—Richard Attah, Sherif Shuab, Richmond Ayi, and Kwadwo Osei Bonsu—and 13 outfield players: Kofi Agbesimah, Thomas Winimi, Liventus Arthur, Abdul Aziz Nuruddeen, Glid Otanga Mvou, Linda Mtange, Zakaria Yakubu, Issah Kuka, Enock Asubonteng, Salifu Ibrahim, Suraj Seidu, Evans Adomako, and Salim Adams.

Some players are leaving due to expired contracts, while others are released for underperforming. In preparation for the new season, Hearts of Oak has already signed Asamoah Boateng Afriyie and Michael Awuah from Nations FC, who impressed in their debut match.
After a brief break following their game against Asante Kotoko SC, the team will soon resume training with a revamped squad to prepare for the upcoming season.
