The University of Ghana (UG) has postponed when students are to resume to campus for the start of the 2024/25 academic year.
This is due to the ongoing strike by many tertiary education workers in the country.

The Office of the Registrar acknowledged the postponement and notified stakeholders and students of the decision, which has an impact on the whole academic community, in a statement released on Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
The institution made it clear that special programs will go on as scheduled even though the strike is still in effect.
The Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU), the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG), and the Federation of University Senior Staff Association of Ghana (FUSSAG) are among the major unions whose labour disputes with university management have resulted in the postponement.
Due to their long-standing demands for better working conditions, several unions have been on an indefinite strike.
