Prosecutors have revealed that the police conducted a forensic examination on the gun of Constable Smith Gyekyi, who is accused of shooting a man at Kuntunse over a transport fare dispute.
Chief Inspector Apewah Achana informed the Adabraka District Court that they are awaiting the forensic report, and the trial judge, Ama Adomako Kwakye, has adjourned the case to October 10, 2024.
Constable Gyekyi is currently held for the murder of Stanley Ahadzi, and the court has not yet taken his plea.

According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at around 4:00 am, when the police were informed that a man had been shot at the frontage of Koans Estate at Satellite Kuntunse, near Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region.
Upon arrival, Deputy Superintendent of Police Adamu Muniru, Adjen Kotoku Crime Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police, the Night Monitoring Officer, and the case investigator, Leticia Asiedu, found 25-year-old Stanley Ahadzi lying dead with blood oozing from his head.
