The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, has responded to claims of carrying out landguard activities in the capital.
The minister last week led a team from the Greater Accra Regional Security Council (REGSEC) to demolish some buildings under construction near the Dodowa forest, after declaring the area a security zone.
This act, the chief of Anum-Asamankese and principal member of the Odoi Kese family at Obosomase, Osabarimah Essah Kwasi Mensah Bediako III, described as landguard activities.

The regional minister, who was offended by the chief’s remarks on Monday’s Dwaso Nsem morning show on Adom FM, responded by claiming he was merely defending his cultural heritage.
Before the land was demolished, he claims that since July 9, 2024, all stakeholders have been required to bring their documentation.
He also expressed his readiness to challenge anyone in court about the legality of the demolition exercise.
“If they want to go to court, I’m ready. Let’s all go to court but I am not a landguard. I am the Chairman of REGSEC. I’m not REGSEC and we went there together. We will also bring our lawyers to court.”

The regional minister also asked that “If they claim the land was for them, why were soldiers guarding it?”
