A 52-year-old lawyer and the Chief of Banda in Accra, have been been arraigned at the Achimota Circuit for allegedly forging a will.
The lawyer, Joseph Kwow Addo and the Chief, Alhaji Seidu Adams together with three others were slapped with charges of conspiracy, forgery of documents, altering of official documents and perjury.
The three other accused persons, Baba Abdul Salia, Abubakar Salia and Saeed Salia, were charged with the same crime.
Leader of the prosecution team, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Isaac Babayi, said the complainant, Addris Salia, became suspicious when his late father, Alhaji Salia Abdullai’s will was given to him.
He then requested an investigation from the Director-General of the CID after conducting his own private investigations and discovering that the signatures on the aforementioned will belonging to his late father, Alhaji Salia Abdullai, and the late Tony Kenyin Foli who witnessed the will had been forged.

Both the Chief and the lawyer pleaded not guilty to the allegations when they appeared before the court presided over by Akosua Anokyewaa Adjepong.
Sam has been allowed to post GHS200,000 bail with three sureties, one of whom must be a public employee making at least GHS3,000.
Saeed Salia’s appeal has been postponed till August 15 due to his recent arrest.
Alhaji Baba, however, was previously granted GHS150,000 in bail with three sureties, one of whom had to be a government employee making at least GHS2000.
The other two, Abdul Salia and Abubakar Salia are currently on the run.
The case has been adjourned to Thursday, August 15 this year.
