Ghanaian record label, Lynx Entertainment officially launched its newest project dubbed “Live The Music” at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra last night.
“Live The Music,” according to the chief executive officer of Lynx Entertainment, Richie Mensah, is not merely a campaign, but a movement with the goals of honouring our national heroes, promoting ties amongst all Ghanaians via shared artistic pursuits, and providing support to emerging artists.
The “Live The Music” project is made up of 12 components aimed at tackling different challenges in the music and entertainment industry.

The first component, Lynx Cubs is an initiative designed to tap into the potential of young talents by forming high school clubs around the country to nurture students, explore their creativity, develop their artistic abilities and gain early career development.
This will be followed by a groundbreaking High School Album titled “Roll Call” featuring talented young artists from 10 different high schools nationwide.
With an Underground EP titled “Believe EP” which will pair seven emerging artists with seven established mainstream stars, to be recorded.
The older generation will not be left out with the introduction of the Legacy Album seeking to immortalise the discography of living legends by reimagining them, featuring top-tier producers and mainstream musicians of this era.
The pioneer of Hip Life music in Ghana, Reggie Rockstone will be very first legend honoured with this project.
The other projects are Live The Music Documentary, Live The Music Museum, Helping Hand, Live The Music Tour, Creative Arts Workshop, Women In Music, Go Hard or Go Home and Behind the Hits.
Explaining the reason for the choice of projects on the night, Richie Mensah said a team was put together to explore the problems facing the music industry and the 12 projects emerged as possible short and long-term solutions.
“So each of the initiatives is to either target one or more problems, something like Lynx Cubs is targeting and fixing some of our problems in the near future.”
He added that there are plans to extend the project to other regions with another launch in Kumasi scheduled in three weeks.
Responding to a question posed by our reporter on the sustainability of the “Live The Music” initiative, Richie Mensah noted that there are measures in place to ensure the continuity of the project.
“For instance, Reggie Rockstone is the legend for the Legacy Album for this year, as we are sitting here I have already had conversations with the next legend for next year,” he said.
Speakers on the night were veteran actor and media personality, George Quaye, Managing Director for Sony Music Publishing, Africa, Godwin Tom, CEO of fashion brand Debonair Afrik, Emmanuel Ekuban (Nuel Bans), and Blac Volta.
In attendance were Hiplife Grandpapa, Reggie Rockstone, Lynx Entertainment Signee, Kidi, Olivetheboy, Dancegod Llyod, D.Cryme, Kuvie, Antoine Mensah, Kwame Faakye and other industry personalities.
The event was hosted by Ghanaian Tv and Radio Personality with TV3, Cookie Tee.
