Member of Parliament for Mpraeso, Davis Opoku Ansah has called on Stakeholders in the Tourism industry to focus on Sports Tourism.

According to him, sports tourism is an area that has a lot of potential in boosting the economy yet its potential has not been fully tapped.

He made the call after he launched the Ghana Tourism Month at the Ghana Tourism Authority headquarters in Accra.

“Let us adopt the sports tourism aspect, I think it’s an area we can all benefit from. Can you imagine on a Friday where Youth Associations in Accra decide to move to Kwahu to have fun. That evening all hotels in my constituency will be full. That evening, restaurants in my constituency will get orders and I know that we are going to make good money so it’s an area where I will urge the Authority to focus on,” he said.

He further called on Stakeholders in the Tourism industry to explore the beautiful yet unnoticed Tourist sites in his constituency.

“I would invite everybody to come to Kwahu. If you want to enjoy good weather and you plan of going to Dubai, come to Kwahu. After you experience Kwahu, you can decide if you want to go to Dubai or not. You will realize that you save a lot and you have a lot of fun too,” he added.

Tourism Month is a month-long celebration of the rich Ghanaian Heritage ranging from food, clothing, music, site seeing among others.
