Former Ghana international Sam Johnson has expressed concerns about the commitment of current Black Stars players. His remarks follow the team’s first two games in the 2025 AFCON Qualifiers.

“I’ve always supported the team, but now I’m getting frustrated. You can have a bad game due to poor conditions, but your attitude should still reflect a commitment to playing for Ghana,” Johnson said in an interview with Peace FM.
In contrast, Henry Asante Twum, the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), disagreed with Johnson’s view.
“I don’t share the belief that the players lack commitment. I’m still shocked by how poorly we performed. It’s hard to believe how ordinary we looked in our game against Niger,” Twum said, speaking on Akoma FM.
