Two suspects have been arrested by the Techiman North Police in connection with the murder of Hannah Akosua Frimpomaa, a level 300 basic education teacher trainee, earlier this year. The suspects, Collins Ameyaw, 27, and Benjamin Wiafe, were apprehended in Wenchi and Tuobodom, respectively. Collins was found with Hannah’s phone, while Benjamin was in possession of her SIM card.

Both suspects have appeared before the Tuobodom District Court, with Collins remanded to reappear on September 23, 2024. Investigations suggest the suspects lured Hannah to retrieve her missing phone, which led to her tragic death.

Hannah, a student at Atebubu College of Education, left home on June 13, 2024, for school but was later found dead in an uncompleted building in Misidan, a community in the Techiman North Municipality.

Her decomposing body was discovered with two sharp wounds on her neck, and police believe her murderers drew blood from her body. Though the police remain tight-lipped about the arrests, investigations into the case are ongoing.
