Bukom Banku, real name Isaac Braimah Kamoko, has revealed the reason behind his altercation with a woman in Bukom over the weekend.
As onlookers attempted to break up the altercation, a now-viral video showed Bukom Banku, wearing a kaftan, attacking a woman wearing a pink dress. The former boxer can be heard being told to halt by onlookers throughout the battle.
Numerous social media users have voiced their disapproval of the video, deeming the boxer’s actions offensive and intolerable.

He claims, however, that he did not strike the woman during the heated altercation and that he disclosed the initial cause of the conflict.

According to Bukom Banku, the woman enjoys verbally harassing him and other local members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The former boxer claims that she continuously makes fun of NDC members while they are out in the neighborhood running their campaigns.
“That person who posted that video thinks they’re ruining my reputation, but now every Ghanaian has witnessed that I didn’t throw my hands. I respect myself in the nation and people love me. Anytime when NDC supporters pass by that road, she will insult them… Every day she insults them,” he said.

The former WBO African Light Heavyweight Champion further disclosed that the woman is her ex-girlfriend, who continuously insults him out of jealousy.
“She is my former girlfriend and I left her for Akuorkor Mantey… anytime she’s insulting me. She sells Kenkey and Fish, so I went there to ask why she’s always insulting me and she poured the pepper on my face,” he added.

He went on to say that he was attacked by the woman’s family, including her husband, but he refrained from attacking them.
