A stammer has taken the charge to plead with tele-communication companies in the country to provide free extra minutes for calls or discounts due to their difficulty in speaking.
Speaking on behalf of stammer on Accra-based Angel FM/TV, he called on the network providers to understand their situation and provide them with free airtime to make calls.
“I am pleading with MTN or Vodafone on behalf of all stammerers to give us free airtime,” he said.
When the host of the drive time show asked him whether the speech disorder affects their airtime use, he responded that it does, adding that the condition is serious and sad at the same time.
“When I buy airtime of 10 cedis, I barely finish talking and then I’m prompted that my airtime is running out.
“What I dislike most is when the person on the other end of the call tries to help me finish my statement. Unless I say it myself before I’m happy but even before that happens, MTN will remind me that I only have one minute remaining,” he painfully stated.
He further noted that he doesn’t understand how his airtime always runs out quickly, therefore, he is pleading with the telecom companies to assist them.
