This Ghana Report initiative is to help deal with the unemployment situation in the country by bringing together employers and job seekers under the same umbrella to connect.
The event also seeks to empower aspiring entrepreneurs with the required knowledge, skills and tools to thrive in their respective competitive industries.
Speaking at the launch of the maiden fair, the Chief Executive of Ghana Report, Ms Rashida Saani, said that unemployment is major challenge in the country that needs to tackled because of its many implications.
She added that her organisation deemed it fit to organise this event as part of its corporate social responsibility to help address the issue of unemployment.
The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) is partnering the Ghana Report for the fair.
This, the YEA Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kwasi Afriyie, said was important because the agency is aware the national security threat unemployment poses to the nation.
He added that the agency is glad with the inclusion of skills acquisition at the fair because it aligns with the agency’s policy direction.
“Unemployment is a difficult task for everybody, and it is always a burden for the governments of Africa looking at the number that are unemployed,” Mr. Afriyie noted.
