Ghanaian forward Ernest Nuamah’s anticipated move to the Premier League fell through after Fulham withdrew from the deal at the last moment. Initially, the transfer was on track, with a verbal agreement between Fulham and Olympique Lyon. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano had reported that Nuamah was close to joining Fulham, with Everton also showing interest.

However, the situation changed abruptly. According to journalist Adam Leventhal, Fulham shifted their focus late in the transfer window, deciding to pursue Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson instead. Despite Nuamah completing his medical and both clubs agreeing on terms, the final paperwork was not signed before Fulham’s change of strategy.
As a result, Nuamah remains at Lyon, where he had recently joined on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell. He originally moved to Belgian side RWD Molenbeek from Nordsjaelland, only to be loaned to Lyon, a move influenced by the shared ownership of both clubs under Eagle Football Holdings. Currently, Nuamah is sidelined with an injury.
