A female driver involved in a fatal accident has been released on a GHC50,000.00 bail with two sureties by the Kaneshie District Court. The driver, who has not yet entered a plea, is scheduled to return to court on March 7, 2024. The incident occurred when she was driving on the George Walker Bush Highway and allegedly caused the death of a pedestrian after an abrupt lane change to avoid a motorcyclist.
The court was informed by Chief Inspector Issifu Abudu that the driver, a 34-year-old resident of Taifa, lost control of her vehicle, resulting in it spinning and striking 27-year-old Helena Owusu. The victim was walking along the road at the time of the accident, which happened near the Achimota old overhead bridge.
