The Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) current president, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has been rumored to be running for a third term.
Although the GFA boss is only permitted to serve two four-year terms, media sources indicate he may be considering another term in office.
But, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, the GFA Head of Public Relations Strategy, asserts that these stories and speculations are merely rumors that the public should ignore.

In an interview with Connect FM, a radio station in Takoradi, he called the accusations “purely speculative” and advised the football community not to believe them.
“This three-term conversation is purely speculative and a rumour at this point. Until there is an official statement or tangible evidence supporting such claims, I advise everyone to treat it as a mere rumour.
“At the FA, Kurt always reminds us he has only three years left to achieve what he promised the football ecosystem,” he said.
In the media, rumors that Kurt Okraku is running for a third term as the Association’s chairman have taken off like wildfire.
These proposals have sparked worries among the nation’s football lovers, who wonder what setting such a precedent will imply for the sport going forward.
Kurt Okraku was elected President of the GFA in 2019 and was re-elected in October 2023.
In the second election held during the Elective Congress in Tamale, Ghana’s northern region, he faced no opposition.
